How do you sleep in that thing??? A Jimby tour

You’ve seen the outside, let’s tour the inside.

I like it better when the fridge is out, but beggars can’t be choosers.

The whole situation is a hot mess, so I’ll make this post as tidy as I can.

I did a little spring clean the other day.

Wow all of my belongings!!

My space has lots of little homely touches – I am all about self expression.

While I’m driving, everything kind of goes on the bed.

I’ve got the fridge with the bathroom stuff, office stuff and kitchen stuff on top. That stays there all the time.

My wardrobe, beach bag and cushioning for the bed go between the drivers seat and the bed depending on what I’m doing. The battery also just floats around wherever it fits.

The other day I put some magnets on the fridge. Stoked!

I told ya it was a hot mess
The view from the front – a bit more orderly

Next to the fridge is my table and solar. I use the little table alot because I’m too lazy to get the big one down, lol.

In the box up top, I have kitchen supplies and my stove. Usually, I would have the chopping board and all of my cookware in there, but I got jack of pulling it down every time I wanted to use it. So it stays in the car for now.

Stove, dishwash bucket and a little table decoration
Non perishables and extra crockery mostly

There is heaps of room in the front foot well and a little bit of room behind the drivers seat. I have extra bungy and ratchet straps as well as my yoga mat, behind the drivers seat and a first aid kit, my door mat and a first aid kit behind/under the passenger seat/bed. The front foot well houses my fire extinguisher, battery charger, roller (not pictured), lunch box and polaroid + film.

Heaps of room.

I don’t really have a good picture of my mattress, but it’s a narrow mattress my friend gave me, which is incidentally perfect for the car.

Add the egg chair insert, a fluffy doona and some pillows and you’ve got yourself a cozy little bedroom.

The curtains have been a hot topic. My dad helped me install these – I think the picture is pretty self explanatory.

Get some curtain cord and hook, attach an eyelet to a plate and secure to the panel with a stud gun.

Do this under adult supervision. (I let the adult do it for me)

When I say helped, I mean…. I picked the pretty material and he may have done everything else… Love ya Dad!

It started out as a safe space to sleep, so I could explore further and not have to worry about getting home. It’s come a long way since then.

I would like to do a post on the evolution, but it’s taken me ages to get around to doing this, so don’t hold your breath.

I hope my little home inspires you to do something with your limited space!

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Also, it’s funny because I don’t find myself taking as many pictures of the set up now, because it’s so normal to me.

So if there’s anything I’ve missed, let me know in the comments.
