Brisbane (part 2)

Well well well.. It’s been a whirlwind.

After my last post, I did my voting (eyeroll) and went into the city hunting a sugar fix.

I stopped at Vega cafe. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed, but a Turkish Delight doughnut? YES please.

The little adornments – rose petals and whipped cream & blueberries oh my heart

I had a couple of hours to occupy before meeting my friend and was at a bit of a loss as to what to do.

I ventured to a big park in the city, but honestly Brisbane had me looking over my shoulder. That dirty city feeling.

I think it’s because I hadn’t really been there before – all the fear mongering and news stories were on my mind. Whereas it’s probably just as safe as Melbourne – a city I love and feel safe and comfortable in.

Fast forward to the sunset, I was poking around looking for a toilet and found this cute spot.

In the evening, I went to a British India gig.

If you know their music, you know how great they are live. It’s been a good 7 or 8 years since I’ve seen them play and while I’ve seen a lot of gigs this last 18 months, no shows quite compare to them.

If you haven’t heard their music – I highly recommend checking them out.

The next day, I went to Plant Vibes cafe and had the Mushroom and cream cheese sourdough. Yum. and spent the afternoon at the art gallery.

Vibes are definitely here

I had a lovely peace of mind leaving the tranquility of the art gallery/gardens.

I had no idea where I left the car, but the sun was shining and I was so happy to be in Brisbane.

It doesn’t take long to find it with the distinguishable gear on top 😉

One of the prompts for leaving Townsville was that I wanted to be around well established roots/friendships.

I guess I mean, people who knew me prior to my relationship. I’ve always been a bit of a loose cannon and flamboyant but didn’t have a foundation of self worth to feel stable in this. I calmed right down (masked) but now I’m regressing with awareness. I want to be around established roots because they know me like this.

Safe to say, across Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, my thirst for connection has been quenched but it’s also lit a fire and I cannot wait to be in Melbourne and soak up all the time with my homies.

But for now, I need to enjoy the remainder of the time on my own.

On to Gold Coast!
